great toy but buy somewhere else February 18, 2009 J. Kuhnert 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
This is a great toy but do not pay the crazy price from the vender on amazon! Buy at wal-mart or toysrus for half the price around $250.00-$300.00. This vender is nuts to overprice a toy by that much! CRAZY
Too Cute For Words! December 3, 2008 Texas Mommy (Friendswood, TX) We bought this about 6 months ago when our daughters were 3yrs old and 18 months old. I originally planned on getting the red Mustang but when I saw the pink one, I had to get IT instead! Went back and forth over which one we would buy, the Barbie Jeep or this one. It would be nice if the doors were made to open like with the Barbie Jeep but the girls have no problem getting in and out, even when we first got it and our youngest was 18 months. She gladly hops in the passenger seat and likes to control the radio. She also likes to snap the gear into reverse when riding. :0) Our 3 year old is pretty good at steering and enjoys the car. I like that it has an adjustable seat so the kids will be in this for a while. Assembly was fairly easy and took a little over an hour. I put it together myself. The drawbacks: as everyone says, the wheels could get better traction and it really doesn't drive well (or at all) on grass as advertised. (I'm starting to think it will do better on grass if it's in the faster speed mode) It'd also be great if the trunk was made to open to store toys and things. I also love that it has two speeds so it can go slower for when they're learning to drive. Then you can easily change it to the faster speed when they get the hang of it.
Love, love, love this car~
We LOVE it!!!! December 26, 2008 K. Loftus This is a fantastic car! My little girl loves to ride around in it with her friends. She adores the drinkholder- she stops and takes sips of her drink every 5 seconds...The music is so cute. It is perfect for her and the fact that it has two gears is wonderful so that she can learn to drive at the slower speed. Make sure you: wear your sunglasses it, bring a pocketbook, fix yourself a glass of juice, and apply sunblock for extra fabulous fun... I totally reccomend this mustang. Its everything and more!!
great March 13, 2009 Raychel A. Young (SwanQuarte,NC) I brought this toy for my unwalking daughter lol but i dont know why its [...] cause walmart, toyrus, and other places $[...]
Well worth the price; great fun value January 9, 2010 S. Snyder (Phoenix, AZ USA) When we took our granddaughter through toy stores over the last year we could always count on her going straight to the Barbie convertible and spending about ten minutes sitting in the floor display. We just bought one for her 4th birthday. We debated getting a gender neutral (non-pink, non-Barbie) version so a younger brother could share it in a couple more years ....just not the same ....gotta be a pink convertible. I agree with most of what has been said in earlier reviews. Overall very happy with it. The wheel slipping is a serious issue; I'm trying to think of an easy way to increase the traction. And the "tunes" on the radio are awful with a capital "aw"! I like the idea someone suggested of an MP3 player. The cup holder is a simple but cute and useful idea - she got her first Starbucks card last Christmas. A couple tips about installation. The wheel bushings are actually large black plastic parts, not the small metallic parts they appear to be in the instructions... not terribly confusing I know. But the instructions use black/white photos rather than diagrams so some steps are difficult to see clearly. The written parts of the instructions are quite good. Also, BEFORE installing the dashboard, skip ahead to "installing the radio batteries (3 x AA). After the dashboard is installed, it's VERY difficult to get under the dashboard and reach the retaining screws. I debated not replacing those screws; I just hope those batteries don't need to be changed often. Maybe I'll put some velcro tape on the radio's back the next time I have to remove it. We're giving the car to our granddaughter tomorrow - the anticipation is so much fun.
